ArmorIQ ballistic plates carry a 12 year warranty. Carriers and textile products carry a limited lifetime warranty on stitching and workmanship.
Ballistic plates: 12 years
The warranty covers manufacturer defects in materials and workmanship, under normal and intended use, for 12 years from purchase. It applies to the HG2 Special, the 3++ and every ArmorIQ ballistic plate.
Most of the category warrants a plate for five years, some for two. The longer term comes from the construction: a proprietary ballistic alloy core in a sealed outer shell, which does not micro crack in a duty bag and does not degrade in an unconditioned armory or a wet vehicle. Carriers and textile products: limited lifetime
Carriers, vests, pouches and bags carry a limited lifetime warranty on stitching and workmanship. Ask us for the terms on the specific model you are considering, so your team has the whole picture in one place.
What the warranty does not cover
- Damage from misuse, abuse or accidents.
- A plate that has been shot, or struck or dropped hard. Replace it, whatever its age.
- Modification or alteration. Do not drill, cut or paint a plate, or apply aftermarket coatings or adhesives to it.
When to replace a plate
A warranty period is not a service life, and no warranty date tells you a plate is still sound after an impact. Replace any plate, whatever its age, if:
- It has been shot.
- It has been dropped onto a hard edge, or anything has struck it hard.
- It is visibly deformed, cracked or delaminated.
- Its markings are no longer legible, so you cannot tell what it is.
If you are not sure, take it out of service and ask us.
Recommended care
- Wipe the plate down once a year.
- Store it dry.
- Keep it out of prolonged direct heat.
These are recommendations for getting the full service life out of a plate. They are not conditions of the warranty.

Does the warranty depend on how I store or clean the plate?
No. Annual cleaning, dry storage and keeping plates out of prolonged heat are recommendations for full service life, not conditions of the warranty.
Is the warranty the same as the plate's service life?
No. Any plate that has been shot, hit hard or visibly damaged should be replaced, whatever its age.
