Department and unit evaluation
If you are equipping a team rather than yourself, this page is the route. It sets out what we give you, what we need from you, and how the process runs.
What we need from you
Three things get you a useful answer instead of a brochure:
- What the plate has to stop. The rounds your specification names, and any state or agency standard you have to satisfy.
- How many people, and in what sizes. A rough count is enough to start.
- Your timeframe and funding route. Budget cycle, grant award, live solicitation, or evaluation with no money attached yet. All four are fine, and they change what we send.
What you get back
- Plate and carrier options matched to the threat and the wear pattern, not a catalog dump.
- The test documentation that applies, with the sample, rounds, shot count and measured backface deformation for each plate we put forward.
- Warranty terms in writing, plate and carrier separately.
- A written quote with sizes, quantities and lead time, in a form you can put in front of a board or attach to a requisition.
- The specification language we can support, so nothing in your document depends on a claim we cannot stand behind.
Range days
Bring your own weapons and ammunition. We bring the plates. Your people shoot them, look at what happened to them, and handle them in the carriers before anyone commits to anything.
A range day answers questions a data sheet cannot: what the plate looks like after the third round, how the complete setup feels after two hours, and whether the people who have to wear it will.
What we will tell you before you ask
- ArmorIQ plates are not NIJ certified, approved or equivalent, and we will not describe them that way in a specification or a quote. They are independently tested at named laboratories against named rounds. The reports are in the documentation package.
- Ballistic testing is run on one plate size across this industry. We will tell you which sample each report covers.
- ArmorIQ plates are made in the United States or in Italy, depending on the order. Where Berry Amendment or TAA eligibility matters for your contract, we confirm the origin of that specific order in writing.

Frequently asked questions
How does a police department evaluate ArmorIQ body armor?
Send the rounds your specification names, an approximate headcount and your timeframe. ArmorIQ returns the plate and carrier options, the test documentation for each, the warranty terms and a written quote for a board. Range days are available with your own weapons and ammunition.
Does ArmorIQ provide test documentation to procurement teams?
Yes. The documentation names the sample, the rounds and velocities, the shot count and the measured backface deformation for each plate, and it is provided as part of an evaluation.
Does ArmorIQ run range days or demonstrations?
Yes. You bring your weapons and ammunition, ArmorIQ brings the plates, and your team shoots them before committing.
What quality certifications does ArmorIQ hold?
ISO 9001, AQAP 2110:2016 (NATO), and approved supplier status with the Israeli Ministry of Defense at Level A.
Can ArmorIQ supply on a grant or a solicitation timeline?
Tell us the funding route and the dates. Quotes come with lead times and in a format that suits a requisition or a grant file.
