STATE BY STATE LAWS

Each state has their own laws regarding the selling and posession of body armor. Due to this, we cannot sell to people in certain states. Below are a set of laws that may impact your ability to buy or possess body armor. Any states that have laws preventing the online sale of body armor has been bolded for your convenience. This page may not by 100% accurate and should not be used for legal advice. If you have any questions, please contact local law enforcement or an attorney.

FEDERAL LAW

If a U.S. citizen has committed a violent federal crime, they cannot purchase, own, or possess body armor. Exceptions can be made if the individual's employer attests they need body armor for lawful business activity. If the exception is granted, the individual can only use body armor for that purpose.

ALABAMA

Alabama does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

ALASKA

Alaska does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

ARIZONA

In Arizona, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

ARKANSAS

In Arkansas, committing certain violent crimes while wearing body armor leads to additional charges. This law does not affect the sale of body armor.

CALIFORNIA

California citizens cannot own both a firearm and body armor. California citizens who do not own firearms and have not been convicted with a felony can freely buy body armor.

COLORADO

Colorado does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

CONNECTICUT

Connecticut citizens cannot buy body armor online. This does not impact the sale of in-person body armor sales. Exceptions are provided to law enforcement. Due to this law, we cannot provide service to Connecticut citizens.

DELAWARE

In Delaware, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

FLORIDA

In Florida, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

GEORGIA

In Georgia, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

HAWAII

Hawaii does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

IDAHO

Idaho does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

ILLINOIS

In Illinois, it is illegal to wear body armor while in possession of a weapon other than a firearm during the commission of a crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

INDIANA

In Indiana, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a felony. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

IOWA

Iowa does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

KANSAS

Kansas citizens cannot wear body armor in some areas during parades, protests, rallies, and assemblies. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

KENTUCKY

Kentucky does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

LOUISIANA

In Louisiana, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a crime or at/near schools. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

MAINE

Maine does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

MARYLAND

Maryland citizens cannot buy, use, or possess body armor if they have any convictions regarding violent crimes or drug trafficking in addition to felonies. Anyone with these felonies can appeal to the Secretary of Maryland State Police to make such a purpose. Otherwise, there are no additional restrictions regarding the purchase of body armor.

MASSACHUSSETTS

In Massachusetts, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

MICHIGAN

In Michigan, wearing body armor while committing violent crimes leads to additional charges. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

MINNESOTA

Minnesota does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

MISSISSIPPI

Mississippi does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

MISSOURI

Missouri does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

MONTANA

Montana does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

NEBRASKA

Nebraska does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

NEVADA

Nevada does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

In New Hampshire, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a felony. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

NEW JERSEY

In New Jersey, committing a violent crime while wearing body armor leads to additional charges. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

NEW MEXICO

New Mexico does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

NEW YORK

New York prohibits the sale of body armor to civilians. Only law enforcement can use body armor.

NORTH CAROLINA

In North Carolina, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

NORTH DAKOTA

North Dakota does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

OHIO

In Ohio, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a violent felony. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

OKLAHOMA

In Oklahoma, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a felony. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

OREGON

In Oregon, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a violent crime while in possession of a deadly weapon. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

PENNSYLVANIA

In Pennsylvania, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a felony. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

RHODE ISLAND

In Rhode Island, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

SOUTH CAROLINA

In South Carolina, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a violent crime. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

SOUTH DAKOTA

South Dakota does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

TENNESSEE

In Tennessee, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a violent felony, some theft or robbery crimes, and felony drug crimes. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

TEXAS

Texas does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

UTAH

In Utah, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a violent felony. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

VERMONT

Vermont does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

VIRGINIA

In Virginia, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a violent crime or certain other felonies while also in the possession of a firearm or knife. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

WASHINGTON

Washington does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.

WEST VIRGINIA

In West Virginia, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a violent felony. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

WISCONSIN

In Wisconsin, it is illegal to wear body armor during the commission of a violent felony. This law does not impact the sale of body armor.

WYOMING

Wyoming does not have any additional legal restrictions regarding the sale or use of body armor.
